The goal of the project is to create an art installation or streetscape treatment to help make the Orondo Avenue corridor (see attached map) more interesting and vibrant, improve the area as a desirable walking route, and also help guide pedestrians from downtown to the waterfront or vice versa. Two sculptures currently exist in this general location, in the center of Orondo Avenue near the train tracks and at the intersection of Orondo Avenue and Wenatchee Avenue. A desired outcome is to create an installation or installations that are “Instagrammable” at a location or series of locations where pedestrians will want to stop and take their photo with the art. The installation must be suitable for public viewing by all ages.
