I. Mowing and Trimming a. Grass and vegetation shall be mowed and/or string trimmed to a height between 6 inches and 8 inches, excluding special plantings such as lespedeza, Leyland Cypress, or other shrubbery. b. If a fence is installed around the pond, the contractor is responsible for maintaining a 2’ buffer on both sides of the fence. c. In areas not accessible to the mowers the contractor shall string trim to the same height as the mowers. d. The contractor shall string trim around fixed objects such as the fence, trees, shrubs, rocks, and culverts. e. The contractor shall maintain access roads, pathways, and driveways leading to the pond area. II. Removal of Trash and Debris a. All brush, leaves, tree limbs, and dead vegetation shall be removed and properly disposed of at no additional cost to the county. b. All accumulated trash and debris shall be removed from all pond areas and properly disposed of at no additional cost to the county. III. Spraying a. Herbicide shall be applied two feet on both sides of the perimeter fencing using a product approved by a Gwinnett County Department of Transportation Representative. b. Spraying shall be done after the pond is cut, not before. c. Vendors shall use an herbicide with the active ingredient Glyphosate at 41.0 percent.
