The State requires a Contractor to provide WC PBM Services, on behalf of the State for injured State employees receiving WC benefits. The Contractor is to ensure timely delivery of, and payment for, pharmaceuticals at a cost savings to the State. The State has seen a continuing rise in medical costs inclusive of prescription medications. By utilizing WC PBM Services, the State is continuing to cut costs and decrease the overall escalation of prescription medications for injured State employees. WC PBM Services establish a network of pharmacies across the State which in turn increases efficiencies between the State, as the payer, the injured State employee, and the provider. WC PBM Services also allow for increased efficiency in responsiveness and automation, reflected in the overall prescription WC cost savings. The awarded contractor must comply with all statutory rules applying to Wisconsin Prescription set forth within Chapter 102, more specifically 102.425(3)(a)2, including a dispensing fee per prescription of no more than three dollars ($3.00).
