This Request for Information (RFI) is issued by the University of Washington (the University) to solicit information for a third-party provider that can be part of a feasibility study that is being conducted to evaluate the costs and benefits of a worker injury self-insurance program. Self-insured claims must be managed in compliance with all Washington State industrial insurance laws and regulations. A third-party administrator (TPA) vendor is often contracted by the employer for claims management services, and this RFI is being utilized as part of the self-insurance application process where an employer must indicate a potential TPA. If applicable the University intends to issue a resulting RFP for these services in the near future. In drafting this RFI, the University has included many, but not all, specifications or details regarding baseline functionality of the Workers’ Compensation Third-Party Adjuster. The University’s expectation is to find information about vendors who can work with us as we apply to be self-insured for workers’ compensation. We need the vendors to be able to answer questions on the L&I self-insurance application. This RFI is open to those Contractors that satisfy the minimum qualifications stated herein and that are available for work in Washington State.
