Opportunity to Provide Rural Public Transportation in Ford, Livingston & IroquoisCounties; Federal Section 5311 Rural Transportation Funding Assistance Program; Livingston County will be applying to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) for §5311 Federal transit funding to help rural public transportation. The Section 5311 program requires that private transportation providers in the three counties listed above be informed about this service, and asked if they are interested in participating in a contract for service arising from a funding agreement under the Section 5311 Rural Transportation Funding Assistance Program. From 1988 to 2025 these services were contracted on a six-county regional with McLean County administering the program. This opportunity applies only to the tri-county region of Ford, Livingston & Iroquois Counties with Livingston County administering the program on behalf of the region. Any provider would need to deliver all of the transportation obligations under the terms of the contract with IDOT for the three counties, including requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
