Engineering Services for Phase II High Service Pump Discharge Valve Replacement Project include, but are not limited to: a. Replacement of two 24-inch rubber seated ball valves with 24” single metal seated ball valves. b. Replacement of two 18-inch rubber seated ball valves with 18” single metal seated ball valves c. Selection and replacement of valve operators compatible with existing 125-130vdc backup power source, or new backup source. To minimize water hammer, valves are required to open/close slowly over a five (5) minute period. d. Selection and replacement of valve gearbox. e. Any piping modifications to accommodate the new ball valves. f. Replacement of existing electrical wiring for the new valve operators. g. Coatings of related piping removed during construction. Design Phase – Technical Specifications for a Design, Bid, Build Project Strategy: a. Prepare technical specifications and drawings at 60%, 90% and 100%. b. Advise the City of additional reports, data, information, or services that may be necessary, and assist the City in obtaining such materials. c. Furnish and review drawings and specifications. d. Furnish an opinion of probable construction cost. e. In response to the City’s comments, as appropriate, make revisions. f. Ensure design meets local and established codes and standards for safety, reliability, and performance. g. Develop a Michigan EGLE Act 399 permit application for the City’s submittal to EGLE.
