The City of Boston is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to support its efforts in aligning and accelerating electrification, environmental, and climate justice goals with energy utilities' grid modernization initiatives. The consultant will conduct technical analysis, process improvements, and stakeholder engagement to ensure that grid modernization supports the City’s climate goals. Key tasks include refining the project’s scope, projecting electrification needs, developing equity-driven siting criteria, analyzing energy infrastructure deployment, and creating systems for improved coordination between the City and our electrical utility, Eversource. The objective is to ensure that grid updates are both climate and community-focused, addressing both long-term resilience and climate justice.
