2.7.1. The Contractor must furnish, deliver and install one (1) new Variable Air Volume Rooftop Unit with Economizer. 2.7.2. The Contractor shall conduct a site survey and assess existing conditions, including the structural integrity of the roof, electrical capacity, and ductwork during the pre-bid meeting and site visit. 2.7.3. The Contractor shall provide a detailed report of the findings and recommendations in the bid response. 2.7.4. The Contractor shall provide a system with multi-stage heating, variable-speed cooling, and hot gas reheat capability to maximize energy efficiency. 2.7.5. The Contractor shall recover refrigerant from the existing unit and dispose of the refrigerant in an environmentally responsible manner in accordance the E.P.A. regulations. 2.7.6. The Contractor shall safely remove the existing RTU without damaging the roof structure or surrounding equipment. 2.7.7. The Contractor shall be responsible for properly disposing of the existing rooftop unit in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. 2.7.8. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing the services of a crane company to lift off the old unit and set the new unit in place. 2.7.9. The Contractor shall be responsible for coordinating with the City of Columbia to barricade any portion of the street, metered parking, and/or sidewalks. 2.7.10. The Contractor shall use internally insulated duct work for all new supply duct work to be added. Any ductwork on the roof shall be watertight. 2.7.11. The Contractor should try to utilize as much of the existing curb openings and duct work as possible, if existing items will support design specs or larger/heavier equipment and openings.
