The work consists of the addition of a third through lane on the north and south leg of Randall Road at the intersection of IL Route 72. Curb and gutter will be placed adjacent to the outer edge of pavement. The existing left turn lanes and two through lanes on Randall Road will be maintained and the existing right turn lanes re-established. Along IL Route 72 the existing left and right turn lanes will be lengthened and include modifications to the existing medians. A HMA multi-use path on the west side of Randall Road from the south limit to the southwest quadrant of the intersection. From the northwest quadrant north to and along Recreation Drive a pervious hot-mix asphalt multi-use path will be constructed. In addition, four retaining walls varying in height AND Material will be installed. The work also includes the removal of the existing storm sewer, installation of a proposed drainage system, grading for a detention basin, traffic signal modifications, intersection lighting and approach roadway lighting. In addition, roadside ditch grading, pavement markings, landscaping, and all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the improvements as shown in the plans and described herein.
