The project includes the replacement of nearly all existing windows at Arundel High School. New aluminum window units, aluminum storefront windows and glazed aluminum curtainwall window opening assemblies are scheduled for the replacement units. Fixed and operable units will be provided. Due to the presence of contaminants within the existing window sealants and glazing (i.e. Asbestos, PCB's) at each opening scheduled to be replaced, the scope of work includes the removal of a minimum of 8" of surrounding exterior veneer material around each opening. Replacement of removed exterior veneer with new brick, EIFS, precast and concrete parging is to generally replicate the existing aesthetic of the facades is the overall intent. Additional veneer removal and replacement may be required to facilitate the installation of new veneer construction; as well as additional removal of veneer beyond the 8" minimum may be required if contaminants are found to be present beyond the initial 8" area. Additional removal of veneer beyond the initial 8" area due to contaminants will be at the direction of Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
