Removal Removal and disposal of existing sidewalk and curb will be done by the Contractor and shall be removed from the job site as it is excavated. No excavated material will be permitted on the lawn or parkway. No open holes will be allowed for more than two (2) days and never over a weekend or holiday. Any public or private property that is not scheduled for removal and replacement that is damaged by the Contractor including sidewalk, driveways, sod, and curb and gutter, shall be removed, and replaced by the contractor at his/her own expense. All removals shall be saw-cut full dept at the limits of construction. . Excavation Any excavation, including but not limited to tree roots, necessary to accommodate the new curb or sidewalk at its specified thickness or to allowable cross slope or profile slope shall be considered incidental to the item being constructed and will not be paid for separately. Concrete All concrete used shall be State Class SI and be air-entrained. All new concrete construction that is exposed to motor traffic shall be barricaded for three (3) days to allow concrete to set. Forms All forms necessary to form the work shall be furnished and set by the Contractor. Forms shall also be removed by the contractor. Only steel forms shall be used. Back-Filling All curb and sidewalk shall be backfilled with clean, black soil by the Contractor immediately after the forms are removed. Disturbed areas shall be seeded with grass seed. This work shall be considered incidental and will not be paid for separately.
