Knox County, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking to retain the services of a professional engineering consultant to prepare plans and permits for the construction of a new greenway and pedestrian bridge to serve the Powell High School area. The proposed greenway would extend from Powell Drive along Brickyard Road to W. Emory Road where it continues west connecting with the existing pedestrian facility in front of Powell High School. This work may be funded in part by the Transportation Alternatives Program Grant (TAP). The professional engineering consulting firm must be on TDOT’s preapproved list. Responsibilities of the professional engineering consultant include but are not limited to 1) environmental documentation, 2) preparation of engineering design plans based on preliminary conceptual layouts, 3) preparation of engineering construction plans, 4) acquisition of necessary permits, 5) construction bidding assistance and 6) responding to construction Requests for Information (RFI’s).
