1. Dam Inspections – MCPS owns and operates several Class II, III, IV and unclassified dams. Conduct field visits to perform a regular or formal inspection on various dams throughout the Park System. Provide a written inspection report, including photographs and review of available documentation. Provide recommendations for immediate and long-term repairs. Inspect dams as requested following major rain events, earthquakes, or emergency situations. Coordinate with NJDEP Dam Safety. The following inspections are anticipated for 2025: • MCPS Dam #409-1 (NJDEP Dam File No. 29-64) Turkey Swamp Park Lake Dam located at Turkey Swamp Park – Regular Inspection of Class III Low Hazard Dam. • MCPS Dams #419-4, 419-5 and 419-6 located at Timolat Section of Huber Woods Park, Middletown – Regular Inspection of three (3) Class IV Small Dam, Low Hazard Dams. • MCPS Dam #419-1 (NJDEP Dam File No. 29-130) Navesink River Rd Dam located at Huber Woods Park, Middletown – Formal Inspection of Class II Significant Hazard Dam. 2. Dam Repairs – Based upon the inspections, prepare sketches, plans and/or specifications for repairs. Repairs may be constructed by MCPS staff, or an outside contractor. Signed and sealed drawings may be required. Coordinate with NJDEP Dam Safety. The following repairs are anticipated for 2025, and may require design and permitting through this on-call contract: • MCPS Dam #407-2 (NJDEP Dam File No. 29-70) Holmdel Park Lake Dam – Class III Low Hazard Dam – Review previous inspection reports, investigate, design and permit cutoff drain along downstream slope to intercept seepage. • MCPS Dam #434-2 North Bobbink Pond Dam located at Charleston Springs Golf Course – Class IV – Small Dam, Low Hazard – Review previous inspection reports, investigate, design and permit repairs to address seepage and erosion of rip-rap. • New or replacement trash racks at various dams. 3. Dam Analysis – Prepare Inundation mapping, Hydrology & Hydraulics analysis and other studies as requested. When requested, assist in the analysis and documentation for de-commissioning dams. 4. Construction administration and inspection services as requested. 5. Other technical assistance to MCPS Design & Resource Management Division as required.
