The selected Consultant shall be tasked with preparing and submitting a comprehensive funding application to the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) for the project. In the event that funding is secured for the execution of the project, the selected Consultant may also be engaged to provide a range of services, including preliminary design, final design, right-of-way services, as well as construction support and inspection services. The Consultant shall prepare, provide, and submit all requisite documentation as stipulated by the NYSDOT TAP program grant application requirements. All information regarding the program is available on the NYSDOT website at https://www.dot.ny.gov/TAP-CMAQ. The grant application must be submitted by the NYSDOT TAP program's 2026 deadline. The exact date of which has yet to be announced. The scope of the Preliminary and Final Designs will include, but not be limited to the development of detailed engineering plans, permitting, the preparation of right-of-way plans and acquisition maps, the design of public utilities, the formulation of work zone traffic control strategies during the construction phase, and the preparation and submission of final plans, specifications, and cost estimates for the project. Furthermore, the Consultant will provide construction support, which includes rendering technical assistance throughout the construction process as it pertains to the design, offering support during construction bid proceedings, conducting analyses of submitted bids, preparing the bid award package, and reviewing submittals as deemed necessary to ensure adherence to design specifications and project requirements.
