The Saint Louis Zoo Facilities Management division is seeking qualified painting contractors to paint the Stingray Exhibit Pavilion at Caribbean Cove. The Stingray Exhibit Pavilion is an open-air structure that houses a shallow saltwater touch pool and a retail gift shop. The surfaces to be painted are steel and include columns, beams, purlins, queue line handrails and ceiling fans weights; The scope of work includes: 1. Removal of all loose paint and rust. Heavily rusted areas are to be filled and blended into the existing surface using Sherwin Williams Steel Seam FT910, per manufacturer specifications. 2. A base coat- Sherwin Williams Macropoxy 646-100 @ 7-8 dry mils, is to be applied to all surfaces abraded and prepared to manufacturer specifications. 3. A topcoat- Sherwin Williams Acrolon 218 HS, semi-gloss in Roycroft Bottle Green SW 2847 applied at 4-5 dry mils, to a properly prepared base coat per manufacturer specifications. The contractor is responsible for masking off and protecting all surrounding surfaces from debris, materials and coating products.
