The West Virginia Tax Department is seeking approval to process a Direct Award with NACHA which is a part of US Bank. NACHA works closely with the Federal Reserve, the U.S. Treasury Department and state banking agencies to ensure bank accounts are active. It manages the ACH network, the payment system that drives direct deposits and direct payments for all U.S. bank and credit union accounts. The NACHA rules and requirements oversee every ACH payment and provides exact guidelines for securely storing, accessing, and transmitting sensitive customer information. NACHA requirements say that you have to take reasonable steps to make sure customers’ routing numbers and account numbers are valid. The Tax Department must be compliant with NACHA because we process ACH payments. Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification.
