he Town is undertaking an initiative to design, engineer, and install Phase 2 of a Town wide fiber optic network, or Fiber Optic Municipal Area Network “FMAN” for our Town. This effort requires the Town to issue an RFP for the purposes of obtaining bids to design, engineer, install, and provide ongoing support for a private fiber network to be utilized exclusively by the Town. The Town is considering only one approach to provide a fiber optic network for the Town, a private dark fiber network designed, engineered, and installed exclusively for the use of the Town and fully owned by the Town. The following RFP is for the procurement of a new fiber network, and all materials and related installation services, for the sites as listed in this RFP. The network will be terminated within the buildings at the respective MDF, and/or demarcation locations within each site. This will be a single mode fiber (“SMF”) network which will designed in a fully redundant topology and serve all of the Town sites.
