The Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) seeks to fund experienced agencies to administer subsidized youth employment programs or specialized training program for Chicago youth aged 16-24 in Chicago who encounter various employment barriers. The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) RFP aims to provide meaningful employment opportunities by exposing youth to a range of public and private sector industries. The program focuses on providing hands-on job training, skills development and pathways to permanent employment, thereby enhancing self-efficacy and equipping youth with essential work experiences and skills for long-term success. The Summer Youth Employment Program will be delivered over six weeks during the summer, during which DFSS will subsidize youth wages at minimum wage rate for up to 120 hours. Selected agencies will be responsible for facilitating valuable work experiences at host worksites provide and achieving a minimum 10% placement rate of participants into permanent employment. This initiative is designed to support youth in overcoming employment barriers, achieving career readiness and fostering long-term employment success
