• Safety analysis and evaluation through data collection (traffic counts, speed studies, and crash data throughout the entire transportation system); • Existing Policy and Documentation Review (current planning documents such as the recently adopted 2024 Transportation Plan and 2023 Climate Action Plan); • Public Outreach and Community Engagement; • Policy Development: provide recommendations for modifications to relevant existing policies and engineering standards in order to support system safety; • Equity considerations: identify and incorporate processes to ensure historically underserved communities are identified and engaged, and that the Plan incorporates equity impact assessments when identifying and prioritizing projects; • Scoping and Development of Prioritized Safety Projects for all modes of transportation, based on a set of evaluation criteria / factors; • First Draft, Second Draft, and Final Report; and • Annual Traffic Report Process Replacement: development of process for City Staff to update the plan and re-evaluate safety on an annual basis.
