All measurements are approximate and must be field verified and agreed to by the Project Engineer prior to consideration for payment. All streets shall be paved as specified in the HMA Application Estimate, attached. All paving limits will be clearly marked by the Engineer prior to commencement of work. In most cases the milling will NOT be continuous through intersections of streets unless otherwise directed by the Engineer. All limits shall be saw cut and material removed for clean, straight joints by the contractor. This work shall be paid for at the bid price of square yards of “Cold Milling HMA Surface” and shall include all labor, materials, and equipment required for saw cutting and the removal of material. The City shall provide a dump site where all millings shall be hauled, dumped, and remain the property of the City of Adrian. No millings shall be sold to private parties or hauled to any location other than the site provided by the City. All concrete to be removed and replaced will be clearly marked with paint by the Engineer prior to commencement of work. All concrete shall be dumped at a site provided by the City. Continuous quantities of fifty feet (50’) or more shall be slip formed. Once concrete is set, immediately thereafter, contractor is required to ramp each drive approach to allow access. Any areas disturbed for concrete removal and replacement shall be backfilled with class II granular sand, topped with a minimum of four inches (4”) of topsoil and must be placed higher than back of curb to allow for settling. Must be seeded and mulched with mulch anchor, mulch blanket, or high velocity mulch blanket. To be included in pay item Curb and Gutter, Conc, Misc. All projects described shall be started after July 1st, 2025 and completed by September 30th 2025. Unless a different date is agreed upon, failure to complete by September 30th 2025 shall result in a penalty of $500.00 per calendar day, thereafter. For considerations of an extension to the finish date, the Project Engineer shall receive all requests in writing immediately following the incident resulting in the request for extension of the contracted finish date. Contractor shall schedule all work such that no significant gaps in time exist between the different phases of work, for example: milling, pulverizing, re-grading and material removal, stabilizing/re-grading and paving. Stabilization shall not take place until the proper grades have been re-established. The contractor shall leave the stabilized base open for a minimum of 5 days but shall not exceed 7 days prior to paving. All cores and asphalt joints must be crack sealed. Material shall be FIELD BLENDED and placed in accordance with the included Overband Crack Sealing Specifications. This work shall be paid for at the bid price center line feet of “Overband Crack Sealing” and shall include all labor, materials, and equipment required for crack sealing and placement of the crack seal material.
