The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This sale is a fourth-row operator select thinning of 157 acres of 20-40-year-old planted slash pine on Tiger Bay State Forest in Volusia County, Florida (see attached maps). Timber to be removed includes every fourth row and select trees in the remaining rows to reach the target basal area of 70-80 square feet per acre. The select trees will be diseased, damaged, forked, suppressed, or trees approved by the Forester-in-Charge to meet the target basal area. Logging decks and skid trails must be approved by the Foresters-in-Charge. The boundaries will be roads, wetlands, obvious timber type changes, state forest boundaries, and fire lines.
