Each fire station requires a minimum of (5) five beds to support the staff on duty each day. The Detroit Fire Department operates (24) hour shifts, (365) days a year. We currently operate (4) four units per week, meaning that at least (4) four different people will sleep on one mattress within one week. Due to the volume of use, we need a commercial grade mattress that also offers comfort and durability.
