CarePortal is a technology platform that enhances the work of the local churches and community to care for vulnerable children and families, together. State child welfare agencies, churches, philanthropic businesses, schools, and more engage through the platform to discover, share, and respond to critical needs that help children and families in real-time. Since its launch in March 2015 by faith-based nonprofit, The Global Orphan Project (GO Project), CarePortal has been activated in 28 U.S. states and 3 Canadian provinces. The CarePortal is supervised by the National CarePortal network, overseen by the Global Orphan Project. The CarePortal is closely monitored by a Regional Director and receives comprehensive support, resources, and oversight from the national headquarters. This structure ensures efficient operation, effective resource allocation, and consistent adherence to the mission and values across all levels of the organization. CarePortal exists to help vulnerable children and families. Requests submitted through CarePortal come from caseworkers through the Department of Human Services, Child and Family Services. The CarePortal is designed to address both the practical and relational needs of vulnerable children and families in immediate, real-time situations, from basic necessities like food and clothing to educational support and mentorship, via donations through the network of CarePortal partners. In our efforts to expand the reach and impact of the CarePortal Network, we need to consistently increase the enrollment of churches and community members. Through strategic outreach efforts, engaging storytelling, and collaborative partnerships, churches are inspired to join the CarePortal and empower community members to become active participants in their community. Monroe County is seeking an organization familiar with the work of CarePortal, its platform, and mission to provide a part-time (30 hours/week) CarePortal Coordinator to oversee the management of the initiative, expand the number of engaged churches, and provide support to Monroe County related to the CarePortal.
