• Ensure that HACC is operating effectively and ethically • Conduct audits and investigations to identify and address issues • Recommend changes to policies and procedures to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse • Review contracts and agreements to ensure they are fair and transparent • Advocate for improvements in the Housing Authority of Cook County operations and services • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information during investigations • Monitoring agency effectiveness and assessing potential mismanagement • Promoting accountability and transparency in the Housing Authority of Cook County activities • Report findings and recommendations to the appropriate authorities • Work with law enforcement to prosecute individuals or organizations engaged in wrongdoing • Engage with stakeholders to receive input on potential problems or concerns. • Ensure that no retaliatory measures are enacted or threatened against an employee for making a protected disclosure or engaging in protected activities as outlined in the Whistleblower Act. • Accept internal and external complaints of potential fraud, waste or abuse of the Housing Authority of Cook County Contracts and Programs.
