Provide motion detectors in stairwells. 6. Provide beam detection devices on roofs with HVAC equipment. 6.1. Mount exterior beam detectors taking aesthetic concerns into account. 6.2. Detection devices, or conduits, may not penetrate roof membranes or flashing. 7. Do not use door contacts. 8. Do not use window contacts or glass-break detectors. 9. The wiring for each of the motion detectors must be a home run back to the security panel for the facility or to the expansion module. 10. Expansion modules may be located in offices or closets throughout the building for ease of installation. All expansion modules must be tied into the main security panel. Provide an external power supply with each expansion module. Locate the module and power supply inside the enclosure and install it near the electrical outlet.
