(a) Repair approximately 20 locations of boards with dead spots using caps or other recommended process. (b) Sand wood floor bare maple strip wood - tack clean. (i) The entire gym floor shall be machine and hand sanded as necessary to remove all existing game lines and finishes, and to a smooth surface. Contractor must use a minimum of 3 (40, 60 & 100 grit) types of sandpaper, and the floor must be sanded until it is uniformly dull. (c) Refinish the gym floor by applying (2) coats of sealer & (2) coats of finish. (i) Apply one coat of seal and allow to dry. (ii) Machine buff, vacuum and tack (iii) Apply second coat of seal and buff the floor (iv) Apply the gamelines an graphics and allow to dry (v) Abrade paint and buff. (vi) Apply one coat of floor finish and allow to dry (vii) Buff with steel wool and tack rag (viii) Apply a second coat of floor finish and allow to dry. (d) Final dusting and cleanup of areas will be by the owner. (e) The game lines and graphics shall be applied to match owner-approved drawings (f) The courts shall meet the requirements of the appropriate athletic associated as directed by the owner. (g) Line colors shall be selected from the manufacturer’s standard colors as determined by the owner and the contractor. (h) All work is to be in accordance with the Maple Flooring Manufacturer’s Association (MFMA) guidelines and recommendations.
