GOAL: The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is seeking a Vendor to convert approximately 412 lineal feet x 10’ wide of crushed limestone trail located in an area that continually floods with a reinforced concrete surface with aggregate shoulders at the Tunnel Hill Bike Trail. SCOPE OF WORK: Install trail closure signs/barricades at the nearest trail intersection with local roads to prevent unwanted access during the course of construction. Signage should read “TRAIL CLOSED AHEAD”. At the actual location of trail construction, construction cones shall be placed at either end to further discourage public use of the trail. Install temporary decking protection on the Sugar Creek bridge. Protection to consist of two 3” X 12” timbers placed in each wheel track over the full length of the bridge (24 timbers total at 12’ lengths). The method of securing the timbers must be reviewed and approved by the IDNR engineer prior to commencing work. Provide, deliver, and install a minimum of 200 tons of IDOT RR4 riprap at the project location. A total of 185 tons of riprap will be placed on the west side of the trail for a distance of 200+/- lineal feet to protect and reinforce the trail embankment from erosion.
