The University of Illinois Chicago Department of Technology Solutions is seeking proposals from “qualified” vendors that can provide and successfully implement a 24x7x365 security operations center (SOC) to address the monitoring, threat hunting, remediation, mitigation of potential security incidents. The SOC purchase and implementation and staffing will provide protection to UIC’s network, systems, application, data, and users. It will further enable UIC to comply with HIPAA, FERPA, GDPR, PIPL, and future opportunities for research revenue since research contracts include stricter federal information security and privacy requirements and compliance. Ultimately, the SOC will facilitate secure access to vital information systems, reduce the risk of compliance breaches, and support a more resilient infrastructure for our community. The SOC must be compatible with the existing university infrastructure, including but not limit to Cisco, Aruba, Splunk, Microsoft Defender, Windows Server, VMWare and others.
