The Town of Bedford, hereinafter referred to as the Owner, is seeking bids from professional commercial pool contractors for renovation of the lap pool at the Bedford Memorial Town Pool facility: • It is the responsibility of the contractor to evaluate the existing swimming pool condition for any signs of structural damage. • Drain any water from pool if necessary. • Remove all tile from pool: race lanes/targets, waterline, tile in skimmers, break lines, depth, and no diving markers. • Rebuild the structural integrity in the corner leading to deep end of pool to original or better. • Repair any other structural issues that may be identified during the scope of the project. • Repair all cracks in swimming structure, chip around all returns, fittings, lights, etc. • Remove any remaining hollow spots. • Wash the pool and prepare surface to facilitate proper bonding with new finish. Need to identify finishing material. • Install new skimmer and waterline tile (blue nonskid) with appropriate depth markers, and no diving symbols in accordance with State guidelines. • The waterline tile will be 6” in height, contractor may submit proposed size tile alternative to accomplish this work, proposed tile does not have to be same as 2”x2” existing condition to water line. • Fill in areas where racing lanes, and break lines were. Identify proposed method and material. • Contractor will provide and install new rope anchors for swim lanes and pool depth divider anchors. • Install new hydrostatic valve, main drain covers and return fittings/covers. • Caulk above the waterline tile. • Install new pebble tech plaster to entire pool (contractor will provide at least 2 different options with cost and warranty in bid). • Break lines (4” wide), race lanes (3’ wide) and targets (3’x3’) will be painted on where they were before using a long lasting, chemical resistant epoxy paint. • All debris from the project is to be removed and hauled off site. • Contractor will fill the pool with water when the work is completed. • The site will be left in same or better condition prior to the project commencement. • Contractor is responsible for any property damage including fencing, building, pool deck or any other improvement on the property. • Contractor will provide the Owner with proper information to care for the finished product and provide a two-year warranty on materials and workmanship.
