I. SCOPE OF WORK New Mexico Department of Agriculture (NMDA) is soliciting proposals from qualified and experienced pesticide waste collection and disposal companies regarding: the collection of pesticide waste from the general public and small businesses; weighing of each pesticide, including container, collected; recording of information as identified by NMDA; packaging and transport of pesticide waste in accordance to applicable federal and state laws; and final disposal of pesticide waste. Collection sites will be established in Deming and Roswell, New Mexico and will be held one day apart on dates specified by NMDA during 2025. Previous collections have yielded from 956 to 78,194 pounds of containerized liquid and solid pesticide material. Participants are primarily comprised of farmers, ranchers, homeowners, pest control companies and homeowners. The 78,194 pounds was primarily a result of national agricultural dealers dropping off pesticide waste products. National agricultural dealers are currently prohibited from depositing pesticide waste material at collection events addressed in this proposal.
