The Hawaii State Department of Health (DOH), Family Health Services Division, Maternal and Child Health Branch (MCHB), Home Visiting Services Unit (HVSU) – referred to as “the State” or “HVSU” – is requesting proposals from qualified applicants to provide event coordination for the HVSU. The HVSU supports a network of home visiting programs named the Your ‘Ohana Network (YON). The YON supports home visitors that provide pregnant women and families, particularly those considered at-risk, with necessary resources and skills to raise children who are physically, socially, and emotionally healthy, and ready to learn. Eligible families are referred to home visiting programs within the YON for voluntary enrollment in home visiting services. Services include but are not limited to: maternal and child health, child maltreatment prevention, school readiness, domestic violence, family economic self-sufficiency, and coordination and referrals for other community resources and supports. Event coordination for the HVSU will enhance the YON’s overall effectiveness and its ability to adapt and grow by ensuring that YON members will be able to partake in timely and meaningful meetings.
