Work shall include the installation of plastic drainage pipe to drain approximately 40 acres of farmland. The work will consist of drainage laterals, sub-main tiles, and main tiles. Preliminary tile design is shown under the Attachments Tab. The successful bidder shall assist with the final tile design • Laterals: Approximately 42,900 feet of perforated 4-inch corrugated plastic drain tile (depending on final design layout) laid at approximately 3.5 - 4 feet (±.25 feet) depth. Laterals should be spaced on 40’ spacing intervals. Tile depth and grade to follow industry best practices. Laterals are shown in yellow on the preliminary design map. • Require design to meet a minimum of ½ inch/day drainage coefficient (DC) • Target bottom of pipe depth at 3.5-4 feet • Sub-mains: Approximately 1300 feet, depending on final design layout, of non-perforated tile. Sub-mains are to be sized 6” or 8” and determined by the bidder. Shown in red on the preliminary design map. • Sub-mains: Approximately 1140 feet, depending on the final design layout of 8-inch perforated tile. Shown in green on the preliminary design map. • 3 water control structures. Structures are shown as yellow boxes on the preliminary design map. • GPS installation data needs to be provided to ISU at completion and before final payment will be made • ISU prefers tile laterals and sub mains to be plowed in. Mains can be trenched or dug in. (Describe this in your attachment to be provided under the Response Attachments tab) • Work must be completed between July 15, 2025, and September 15, 2025. The field is currently in wheat with an anticipated harvest of July 15 and ISU would like installation completed before fall harvest of corn and soybean starts.
