Services 21.5.1. Clean & Disinfect dog housing areas and crates: removal and disposal of debris (animal waste, spilled food/treats, water) and dirty objects (soiled linens, toys, dishes), disinfection and setup of housing area for dogs. 21.5.2. Sweep and mop shelter hallways. 21.5.3. Trash disposal. 21.5.4. Laundry: load soiled laundry into washer and dryer, fold clean laundry and store in appropriate location. 21.5.5. Dishes: wash dirty dishes and toys, load into sanitizing machine, unload clean items and store in appropriate location. CLEAN THE DOG HOUSING AREA Cleaning in kennels should always begin at the front of the aisle and move towards the back. After dog has been removed by IACS staff, follow this procedure: 21.7.11. Remove all soiled blankets and put in the laundry bin. 21.7.12. Prop up the bed. 21.7.13. Set aside all bowls and toys. 21.7.14. Ensure that the kennel has two food bowls (one for food and a second as a spare). 21.7.15. Put any chains in the dirty dish bin. 21.7.16. Use a pooper scooper to remove poop, debris, food, etc. from the floor and kennel drain. 21.7.17. Dump the water bucket into the kennel drain. 21.7.18. Hose down the entire kennel (including both sides of the door) with water from the top down. Ensure that the water goes into the kennel drain, not into the aisle. 21.7.19. Hose down bowls and hard toys (such as Nylabones/Kongs) with water and place upside down on the top of the kennel to indicate that they are clean. a. If there are feces or urine on bowls or hard toys, they can be foamed along with the kennel. b. If the feces cannot be removed by foaming, put it in the dirty dish bin. 21.7.20. Ensure that the drain is clear of food and debris.
