SCOPE OF WORK: The City of Lawrenceville is requesting quotes from qualified contractors to provide labor, materials, and equipment to perform all work necessary for yard waste grinding services on-site at the City of Lawrenceville’s green waste yard located at 460 Papermill Rd., Lawrenceville, GA 30046. Services will be utilized on an as-needed basis. It is estimated that the successful contractor will need to mobilize equipment 4-6 times per year. This is an on-demand contract. Annual quantities on the quote schedule are estimates only. Quantities will vary depending upon need. OBJECTIVE: To take organic debris such as tree branches, limbs, and logs collected from the City’s Streets and Sanitation Department and grind into usable garden mulch that otherwise would go into the solid waste stream. REQUIREMENTS: Contractor shall provide supervision, labor, equipment, and materials, necessary to perform the services All work shall be conducted in a safe manner and shall comply with all governing regulations concerning safety. Contractor shall: • Provide all equipment and tools necessary to perform the work including but not limited to a loader, tub grinder, or horizontal grinder. • Be responsible for all manpower and equipment needed to load/feed the organic material into their grinder unit with the expectation of the 95% of the processed material will pass through a 3-inch screen. • Be Solely responsible for all operations of Chipping/Grinding to include but not limited to equipment delivery and mobilization, and moving unchipped material located at the site to the area of most efficient chipping/grinding. • Accept material with an approximate diameter of 22”. • Operate the site in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations to include EPA and Stormwater. • Continually be aware of all safety concerns, issues, and any potential hazards should they arise. • Conduct themselves at all times in a manner that meets or exceeds all applicable safety standards. • Conduct the grinding operation in a safe manner whereby a sufficient buffer is provided between the grinder and stockpile so as not to place residents and staff or their vehicles in danger from flying debris.
