The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals from qualified offerors to provide the District with substitute teachers and various miscellaneous staffing. Staffing categories may include, but are not limited to, substitute teachers for grades Pre-K thru12, instructional assistants, paraprofessionals, secretaries, health room assistants, custodians and others as required. Staffing needs may be pre-planned or may occur at the last minute. The District’s desire is to ensure that every classroom/location needing a substitute is appropriately staffed each day with qualified personnel. The District currently has approximately 150 current substitute employees and requests that the awarded Contractor offer employment to these employees. Long-term substitutes may be required on occasion. For the purposes of this contract, a long-term substitute is a certified substitute that works for a certified teacher in the appropriate content/certified area and is in a singular placement for 10 or more consecutive days. The District prefers that each long-term substitute have a valid teaching certificate issued by the SC Department of Education.
