• The Department of Public Works & Parks (DPWP) is soliciting, through this invitation for bid, for hired tow truck services to work in conjunction with DPWP Street sweeping crews at various locations throughout the City. The hired tow truck vendor shall be responsible for moving parked vehicles after they have been ticketed by DPWP Parking Control Officers due to being parked in violation of street clearing ordinances. • Tow trucks shall move illegally parked vehicles only long enough for the street to be swept by DPWP Street sweeping crews. Once the roadway is swept, the tow truck will return the vehicle to a location as close to where it was originally parked as determined by the DPWP official in charge of sweeping operations. • Unless directed otherwise, the towed vehicle will not be removed from the street nor will it be delivered to the tow services vehicle storage area. • No charges other than the hourly rate for tow truck services will be accepted for this solicitation. Tow truck vendors will be listed on a roster by ascending order by hourly rate and administered by DPWP Street Operations. Placement on the roster will be listed in an order whereby the lowest hourly rate will be placed in the first position on the roster with the higher rates following. The lowest hourly rate vendors will be called first each time tow services are needed. A maximum of four vendors may be selected. • The City’s sweeping program begins in April and will run for an estimated 8 – 10 weeks thereafter. This service may also be utilized in the Fall season for leaf removal operations beginning in November and running for approximately 4 – 6 weeks.
