The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is seeking bids for mold remediation services at Building 200 of the SLED Center for School Safety in Gilbert, SC as per the attached specifications. Contractor shall: Clean all surfaces within the building. The Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) defines Condition 3 as an indoor environment contaminated with the presence of actual mold growth, associated spores, and fungal fragments. Actual growth includes growth that is active or dormant, visible or hidden. Condition 2 is defined as an indoor environment which is primarily contaminated with settled spores or fungal fragments that were dispersed directly or indirectly from a Condition 3 area, and which may have traces of actual growth. The goal of remediation is to return the indoor environment to Condition 1, which is defined as an indoor environment that may have settled spores, fungal fragments or traces of actual growth whose identity, location and quantity are reflective of a normal fungal ecology for a similar indoor environment. Based on visual observations, the surfaces throughout the building are considered Condition 2 and/or 3. IICRC S520 provides specific guidelines for cleaning porous, semi-porous, and non-porous items. SLED does not intend to instruct the Remediation Contractor on how to clean every surface; however, it is recommended that the Contractor follow the guidelines and recommendations within IICRC S520. Clean ductwork within the building. Remove two (2) bulletin boards with fungal growth. All contents and moveable items within the building will be removed by SLED prior to remediation. Upon completion of remediation, a post remediation verification and assessment, to include a visual examination and air samples, will be performed by a third party on behalf of SLED.
