The City of Quincy, acting through the Department of Natural Resources, is soliciting bids from qualified vendors to supply Parade Float Trailers. The specifications detail three (3) types of trailers and pricing will be required for each type. Spare tires for each trailer will be priced as well. Each trailer must be delivered to Quincy, MA with the latest manufacturers’ warrantees and guarantees for materials and workmanship. Dimensions and Frame: o Usable deck length: 24 to 26 feet. o Usable deck width: 8.5 feet. o Frame constructed with approximately 8-inch channels and 3-inch channel cross members, spaced either 24 inches or 18 inches on center. 2. Side Rails and Decking: o Outer side rail must include a wood perimeter, designed to securely mount parade materials. o Decking must be constructed of wood no thinner than 2 inches. 1. Preference for plank or plywood 3. Protective Coatings: o All metal and wood components must be coated with materials resistant to common decay processes, ensuring durability and longevity. 4. Coupler Options: o The coupler may be either a hook and ball style or an adjustable pintle eye style, compatible with various towing configurations. 5. Axle and Height Requirements: o Dual axle configuration. o Height from ground to deck: No greater than 24 inches. 6. Braking and Electrical Systems: o Electric brakes included. o DOT-approved wiring, lights, and connections for safety compliance. 7. Weight Capacity: o GWR (Gross Weight Rating): Between 12,000 and 16,000 pounds. 8. Additional Requirements: o Must include a jack that supports flat storage for convenient and stable positioning when not in use. Trailer Type 2 Specifications 1.
