The following is a general description of the work to be done under this Contract. This list is intended to give the Contractor a general description of the work involved in this Contract and is not a complete listing of all work to be done. All work shall be done in accordance with the Contract Documents even though not specifically mentioned in this list. The New York State Thruway Authority will resurface the Exit 31 Ramp Bridge over North Genesee Street, located in Syracuse Division, at MP 233.27 in Oneida County, New York. The project work consists of resurfacing the existing bridge deck with a 2.5” waterproofing bridge deck overlay and replacing the existing bridge joints. Additional work to be performed will include concrete repairs to the bridge deck underside, fascia, and abutment backwalls, steel repairs, guiderail and barrier upgrades, as well as rehabilitating the embankment slope under the bridge. 1. Prepare the roadway for shifting traffic, including reconstruction of the right asphalt shoulders. 2. Remove existing median barrier and guiderail. Install and maintain the required Work Zone Traffic Control measures for each stage of construction. 3. Perform milling operations to remove 2.5” of the existing bridge deck wearing surface. 4. Perform repairs to rehabilitate the concrete bridge deck and backwalls as shown in the contract plans. 5. Rehabilitate existing embankment slope protection under the bridge. 6. Perform steel repairs and painting operations. 7. Rehabilitate existing joint sealers and install new armorless bridge joints at both pier locations. 8. Install new 2.5” waterproofing bridge asphalt overlay as shown in the contract plans. 9. Install new median barrier, guiderail and associated delineators and signs as shown in the contract plans. 10. Install new pavement markings. 11. Clean and restore all disturbed areas within the project site.
