These specifications/scope of services are intended to be primarily goal-oriented versus prescriptive in nature. Bidders shall describe their approach to provide disc trenching and chemical treatment of planting sites as well as a contractor’s warranty. Disc trenching and chemical treatment shall occur during the period of June 1, 2025 and ending August 15, 2025. Though trench and spray bids are preferred, contractors may submit a bid for disc trenching only for consideration. The contractor will be responsible for supplying all mechanical equipment, personal protective equipment, labor, materials, transportation, tools, certifications, and licenses necessary to complete the job. All equipment shall be decontaminated of invasive species prior to arrival on site. The contractor will be responsible for creating evenly spaced trenches with exposed mineral soil suitable for planting tree seedlings. The contractor will be responsible for chemically treating the site with herbicide to reduce vegetative competition to the planted trees. Wetland sites within or adjacent to the contracted area are not to be driven through, disc trenched or sprayed. Spray drift onto to adjacent properties shall be avoided completely. Buffers between County properties and adjacent landowners may be implemented on a site by site basis at the County’s discretion. The contractor will supply all chemicals (herbicides and surfactants) to be used. The contractor is required to keep the herbicide solution continually mixed in the spray tank. Weather conditions must be favorable for spraying herbicide to prevent uneven coverage, chemical drift from the intended sites, and/or herbicide being diluted or washed off vegetation negatively impacting desired action.
