DOCJT’s Training Operations Division seeks the temporary services of a qualified legal training instructor to provide instruction to law enforcement personnel for both basic and in-service training courses. Specifications are as follows: 1) Location: Official workstation location will be at DOCJT’s satellite office located at the Madisonville Police Department Regional Training Center at 755 Industrial Road, Madisonville, KY 42431. 2) Travel: a) Travel to alternate training locations throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky may be required. b) In accordance with 200 KAR 2:006 and GCRC Policy Statement #98-1, instructors will be reimbursed for transportation, meals and lodging for any required travel for instruction at any location other than the DOCJT satellite office located in Madisonville, KY. 3) Instructional topics to include: a) State and Constitutional law, with strong focus on Fourth Amendment law including searches and seizures; and warrants and Fifth Amendment law including interrogations; b) Evidence; c) Case Preparation; d) Writing Legal Documents; e) Law Enforcement Liability; f) Driving Under the Influence; g) Vehicle Offenses; h) Domestic Violence Law; i) Juvenile Law; j) Laws of Arrest; k) Court Testimony; l) Kentucky Penal Code; and m) Kentucky Rules of Evidence
