Brevard County Purchasing Services, on behalf of the Housing and Human Services Department, is soliciting bids from qualified Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) contractors to replace residential HVAC systems under the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), which was funded through the Florida Department of Commerce (Florida Commerce). The County anticipates that up to 100 residences may qualify to have their residential HVAC systems replaced under LIHEAP funding. In accordance with LIHEAP and Florida Commerce regulations, the county intends to award this solicitation to multiple HVAC Contractors For work orders that are $50,000 or less, the County may choose any one of the awarded Contractors to perform the work meeting the County’s requirements so that the work can begin or be under contract no later than February 14, 2025.. Brevard County has a cap of $5,000 (per unit) that will be paid from LIHEAP funds towards the cost of replacement HVAC units for any specific residence.
