Work will primarily consist of providing material testing services according to Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) requirements for the following types of projects: 1. Quality Assurance (QA) services for Motor Fuel Tax (MFT), REBUILD Illinois (RBI), and/or Villagefunded municipal infrastructure improvement projects. The Contractor will provide both Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) and Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA) QC services for these QC/QA projects. The Consultant will be required to review proposed PCC and HMA QC plans, collect PCC and HMA split and independent samples from the field for QA testing, complete laboratory testing of the PCC and HMA samples, provide reports with the QA testing results, and promptly notifying the Village if any results are not within control limits. The Consultant will also coordinate with the Contractor to obtain their QC results and verify that their results are with the acceptable limits of precision. 2. Other Construction Material Testing (CMT) services may include subgrade stability inspection by proof rolling or cone penetrometer, aggregate subbase compaction testing by nuclear density or other methods, aggregate gradation and/or quality testing. An estimated number of sample sets and/or site visits are listed on Page 7 for each program. For concrete testing: assume each sample set for compressive strength testing includes casting three (3) 4”x8” cylinders per site visit; assume each site visit is four (4) hours, portal-to-portal. For HMA testing: assume each visit is eight (8) hours, portal-to-portal...
