TRAFFIC SIGNAL EQUIPMENT SCOPE OF SERVICES The Contractor shall be responsible for the maintenance and continuous operation of the traffic signal and vehicle emergency preemption devices owned and/or operated under the jurisdiction of the City of Park Ridge. The Contractor shall furnish all labor and material to maintain the respective systems in first class working and operating condition at all times; the Contractor shall clean, repair and overhaul specified equipment at stated intervals of time; the Contractor shall provide the necessary transportation for the workmen, materials, and equipment used to execute the terms of the contract; and in case of emergency, the Contractor shall provide twenty-four/seven (24/7) maintenance and repair services, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The contract shall include the periodic patrol of the respective systems for lamp failure and improper or non-operation of equipment. The Contractor shall furnish and replace all lamps which burn out in the system during the term of this Contract. The Contractor shall dispatch only properly trained and qualified electricians to work on the traffic signal system. The Contractor shall, at all times, maintain a force of qualified personnel sufficient to perform the work required and described herein. Included in these employees shall be a significant representation of International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) certified traffic signal technicians. The force of qualified workmen shall be sufficient to respond to emergency calls which may be received at any time and to promptly make temporary and permanent repairs. Immediate action shall be taken to safeguard the public at any time a signal installation becomes partly or fully inoperative from any cause whatsoever. When working in traffic, flaggers will be certified by the State of Illinois as having successfully passed an examination designed to insure a thorough knowledge of approved traffic flagging procedures. The maintenance contract shall include routine maintenance of each and every component of the traffic signal system as outlined herein, for which no additional compensation will be allowed. There shall be no reimbursement for travel expenses under this contract.
