The City of Saint Charles has purchased existing buildings located in the former ACF complex in the St. Charles Frenchtown District, at the north end of downtown St. Charles. One building, identified as Building 93, will be demolished under a separate contract. Once Building 93 is removed, a new 2.5 level, 300-car parking garage and 3-story, 70,000 SF City Hall will be constructed. Construction will include site amenities and site utilities. The new City Hall façade will replicate the existing historic buildings but also incorporate a modern office building design. Concurrent to construction of the new City Hall, the City is pursuing improvements to 2nd Street (on the West side) and developing an extension of Main Street (on the East side). Such improvements will take place under separate contracts but the construction phase will occur at the same time as the City Hall construction.
