1. The final trench repair shall be milled to a depth of one and one-half (1 ½) inches. The repaired trench area will be filled with a three-eighths (3/8) inch Superpave asphalt mix that complies with the NH DOT 2016 “Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction,” Section 403, and the City of Laconia standard pavement specifications. 2. Alternatively, the trench can be saw-cut at least two (2) feet beyond the trench limits, and the pavement removed without disturbing the underlying sub-base gravels. The final trench patch shall consist of a minimum of two and one-half (2 ½) inches of three-quarter (3/4) inch binder Superpave, topped with one and one-half (1 ½) inches of a three-eighths (3/8) inch Superpave top asphalt mix, both meeting the NH DOT 2016 “Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction,” Section 403, and the City of Laconia standard pavement specifications. 3. Before paving, all joints and exposed surfaces must be completely coated with an approved asphalt emulsion (tackifier coat). This treatment should also be applied to all lifts.
