The University of Massachusetts at Amherst is seeking competitive bids from qualified vendors to provide site services, and water treatment chemical (s) to the closed hydronic dual temperature loop shared between the Physical Plant building complex and the Mullins Center. The success bidder shall be responsible for: 1) Provision of 5000 gallons of propylene glycol suitable for use in a closed loop hydronic system. This product should be SAFE-T-THERM® HD Concentrate 100% Inhibited Industrial/Tech Grade Propylene Glycol Heat Transfer Fluid, or the technical equivalent from any major supplier of industrial grade glycol. 2) The successful bidder shall remove 5000 gallons of the current loop contents for disposal or recycling. A lab report indicating the current contents of the dual temperature loop is included as an exhibit for this bid specification. Bidders should not rely in this lab work; it is included for reference only. Bidders should obtain their own lab work suitable for use by their waste or recycling subcontractor. 3) The successful bidder shall supply the pumps, hoses, fittings, tools, and labor needed to safety drain the loop of 5000 gallons for recycling or disposal, and add the 5000 gallons of the virgin glycol indicated in item 1, above.
