The DNR Seeks to Purchase: Planning services to develop the existing conditions section for two water trail projects in two non-contiguous counties along the Cedar River in Iowa: Floyd and Benton counties. The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking a qualified Respondent for planning services to develop the Existing Conditions sections for the next two water trail projects along the Cedar River in Floyd and Benton counties. Both Existing Conditions sections shall be developed separately as two distinct projects. A water trail plan is required for state designation, and the first phase of a water trail plan is to develop the existing conditions section; it’s the most informative part of the plan, as a good plan depends on a detailed and well-developed Existing Conditions. Both projects were selected by a scoring committee consisting of three DNR employees and two citizen river advocates. Both, the Floyd and Benton County Conservation Boards applied for these services and have agreed to be the water trail sponsors in their respective counties.
