Mowing 166 (+/-1) acres at the Wendell H. Ford Regional Training Center 4675 State. The services are required each week beginning on April 1 and ending no later than September 30. This is a total of 27 mowing services. The training site maps are split into two categories. Cantonment and Ranges. The Cantonment area will be mowed weekly. The Ranges will be mowed every other week and will be dictated by the Range Schedule that will be provided monthly. (Cantonment 109.5 acres and Ranges-58.30 acres) All mapped areas are provided on the Power Point. Details of mowing servicesAll mapped areas are required to be mowed. 1. A grass height between 3-4 inches. 2. Weed trimming is required weekly around all buildings, signs, gutters, drainage culverts, fence, and all other structures. The trimming will be the same height of the mowed lawn areas. 3. To prevent erosion and loss of vegetation, drainage ditches and steep banks will be mowed/trimmed on a as need basis, but vegetation will not exceed 12 inches. 4. Edging of 100% of sidewalks will be required three times a year. Once in April, July, and in September. Edging will consist of cutting a groove beside the sidewalks no less than 2 inches to remove overgrown vegetation. This overgrown vegetation will be blown from all hard surfaces such as sidewalks and asphalted areas. It will be mowed through to distribute in the lawn or picked up by hand. 5. All hard surfaced areas are required to be swept or blown free of grass and other vegetation as you mow and trim. These areas include all asphalt, sidewalks, and walkways. 6. Sticks and small debris are to be picked up and discarded into an adjacent wooded area that the DMA will pinpoint. Mowing over sticks, debris, and trash will not be allowed. 7. Downspout splashguards will be mowed around and not to be driven over. If pushed or moved, the contractor will place back into correct position. 8. Mowing patterns are not specific but quick turnarounds are not suggested. Any area that is rutted will be required to be smoothed and reseeded. Immediate mowing after a rain is not suggested due to the shallow topsoil. 9. All damages will be reported immediately. The contractor will be responsible for the repairs to include commodities and labor.
