It is the intent of the City to solicit Qualification Statements from Respondents that have expertise in the provision of professional legal services as described below and as set forth in the attached Notice of Solicitation for Responses. Respondents must demonstrate that they will have the continuing capabilities to perform these services. The Office of Corporation Counsel of the City of East Orange is seeking In-Rem Tax Foreclosure Special Legal Counsel services as it is frequently called upon to provide outside counsel for the provision of legal services and representation of the City and/or City agency or department in various matters. The subject matter of such representation includes, but is not limited to, prosecuting and defending municipal tax foreclosure matters before the Superior Court of New Jersey and the United States Bankruptcy Court. Counsel will have a close working relationship with the City's Office of Corporation Counsel.
